EDF Energy Bill Explained

  • Understand your EDF Energy Bill

  • Your account number:This is your unique customer number for your EDF Energy account Please quote this number when you contact us: as it will help us identify your account more quickly.
  • Bill DateThis is the date when the bill was generated.
  • Contact Details: Telephone numbers and hours when a member of staff will assist you.
  • Billing Period: The start and end date that the bill covers.
  • The balance on your last review: The balance on the account the last time a bill was received.
  • You paid us: Shows how much has been paid since your last bill.
  • Charges for this period: The total amount to be paid for the billing period. A breakdown of these charges is shown on page 2.
  • Your new account balance: This is the total amount your account is in credit or debit on the date the bill was generated.
  • Important information about your payment requirements: This section explains what you need to pay. This outlines if your direct debit payment needs to change, with an explanation as to why the payment level will change.
  • Address of energy supply: The property that has used the energy, if different to your mailing address. If supply and mailing address are one and the same this will not appear on your bill.
  • Personal Projection: This forecasts your energy usage and costs over the next 12 months. It is based upon meter reads received during the previous 12 months. Or the best estimate of your consumption over 12 months.
  • Could you pay less: Based on your personal projection, EDF will look at whether you can move to a cheaper tariff plan and save money by switching to this new tariff.
  • Unique code: Indicates the type of bill received. 6 Letter code shows the following information about your bill; Payment type, Pay frequency, Meter Read & Bill type.
